A Beautiful Campus Tradition, Designed to Return Year After Year
When Wake Forest University needed a reliable, environmentally responsible lighting solution for a major campus event, FLIC Luminaries helped its staff plan a display that combined beauty, durability and practical installation.
Our goal was to create a lighting system that would look beautiful during the event while remaining easy to install, dismantle, store and reuse in future years.

Custom Lighting for a Large University Campus
Illuminating a university campus requires considerably more planning than an ordinary residential luminary display.
FLIC worked closely with Wake Forest's staff to select the appropriate luminaries and customize the lighting system to meet the event's particular needs.
Our solution combined FLIC's durable, reusable luminaries with commercial-grade light strings, which we custom-cut into manageable lengths for installation and storage.
We paired those strings with warm-white LED bulbs, providing the soft, welcoming illumination the university wanted while maintaining energy efficiency and reliability.
Making Future Installations Easier
One of the most important considerations was how the university could recreate its display year after year without having to start from scratch.
We recommended keeping the lighting attached to the luminaries in each section after the event. Each assembled section could then be placed in a large protective storage bag.
This approach offered several practical advantages:

Reusable Luminaries and Energy-Efficient Lighting
Environmental responsibility was another important part of this project.
FLIC Luminaries are manufactured from recyclable polyethylene and designed for repeated seasonal use, rather than being discarded after a single event.
By combining reusable luminaries with durable, energy-efficient LED lighting, we helped Wake Forest develop an installation intended to provide years of service while reducing the need to purchase disposable decorations for every event.
