On March 1, 2019, FLIC Luminaries announced an important milestone in the evolution of our reusable luminaries: we doubled our durability warranty from 5 years to 10 years.
FLIC was already known for building exceptionally durable outdoor luminaries, but extending our warranty to a full decade represented something more. It was our commitment to stand behind the durability we had spent years developing and testing.
Why a 10-Year Luminary Warranty?
FLIC Luminaries aren't designed to be disposable decorations. They're designed to come out of storage year after year for Christmas displays, neighborhood traditions, weddings, special events, commercial installations, and community celebrations.
Our one-piece, injection-molded luminaries are manufactured from a specially formulated polymer selected for long-term outdoor durability. Their construction and material formulation are the result of years of experience, experimentation, and real-world testing.
Before announcing the expanded warranty in 2019, we had already spent approximately 18 years learning how our luminaries performed over time.
Years of Real-World Outdoor Testing
Some product testing happens in a laboratory. Some of ours happens the old-fashioned way: we put luminaries outside and leave them there.
Over the years, test luminaries have been exposed to sunshine, summer heat, freezing temperatures, rain, snow, ice, and changing seasons. We have used what we learned from that long-term exposure to continually improve the materials and construction of FLIC Luminaries.
That experience gave us the confidence in 2019 to make a significant change:
5-Year Warranty → 10-Year Warranty
And our experience with long-term durability didn't stop there. We have customers who have reported continuing to use FLIC Luminaries for more than 20 years.
Built for Real Outdoor Conditions
A luminary intended for repeated outdoor use has to deal with more than age. It may encounter intense sunlight, heat, freezing temperatures, rain, snow, ice, and wind.
That's why durability has always been central to the FLIC design. Instead of making a luminary intended for a single evening or a single season, our objective has been to make something customers can store, reuse, and enjoy for years.
The 10-year warranty reflects that philosophy.
What Does the FLIC 10-Year Warranty Cover?
Our current 10-Year Luminary Durability Warranty covers the structural and material integrity of qualifying FLIC Luminaries during normal seasonal outdoor use, subject to the complete warranty terms and conditions.
The warranty applies to both residential and commercial use and provides 120 months of durability coverage.
